OCA Challenge Awards 2009 Announced

The OCA Challenge Awards acknowledge and reward the outstanding achievements and successes of associated OCA members of all sizes across the UK.   The winners of the four categories were announced at the OCA Annual Dinner on Thursday 29 October 2009, which was held at the Marcliffe Hotel, Aberdeen. The companies and individuals were presented with personalised trophies in front of more than 200 North East business people and influential industry figures.

The winners for 2009 were:

Challenge Award for Health & Safety
Allan Pollock of Wood Group Engineering (North Sea) Ltd for his leadership in a drive to improve the company’s safety performance on a contract covering 12 offshore installations and two onshore terminals

Future Star Award for Training
Samantha Thomson of Aker Solutions for contributing to company business and industry costs and her community involvement.

Challenge Award for Technology and Innovation
Caltec Ltd, part of Petrofac Production Solutions for its Wellcom Oil Skid System.  The award was presented to John Kerr and Neil Platt on behalf of Caltec.
 
Challenge Award for Environment
The Aker Solutions SHE Team for their energy efficiency model and their sustainable effort for the next generation.  Lorraine McIver received the award on behalf of Aker.
